『活動』NCTS School on Atomic Theory for Low-Energy Detector Responses
Date: Fed. 20-22, 2016 Place: National Dong Hwa University, Hualien Website: http://phys.cts.nthu.edu.tw/actnews/content.php?Sn=274 -- Introduction: Low-threshold detectors are powerful tools in neutrino detection and direct dark matter searches. At keV and sub-keV regimes, clear understanding of the detector responses requires many-body physics, which is the core research subject of the NCTS Experimental Collaboration Program on Light Dark Matter (ECP4). The main part of this school is to provide students and young researchers (current or interested in this filed; theoretical or experimental) with basic practitioner’s knowledge of atomic many-body theory that has been applied to low-energy detector responses recently with certain degrees of success. The school also contains overview lectures on neutrino and dark matter experiments, and selected subjects in detector physics which require further theoretical studies. Due to limited capacity, for registration, please contact Prof. Hsin-Chang Chi (hsinchang@mail.ndhu.edu.tw) and provide at least one name of references (e.g., your advisor etc.). The school will cover transportation (train and bus), meals, and lodging for admitted students and young researchers.
